Game crashes while taking cover in GTA V

I got gta v as of recent and up until the first mission with trevor i never had any problems with crashes. At first it was just during missions it would do it and if i remember it was only trevor. Now, any time i take cover with any other character at any point the game crashes. I didnt do anything to the game files other than add a mod fov mod and then i took it out once i noticed that that was happening and now its nothing short of annoying and almost unplayable. Any ideas or anything? i havent seen many other people with this problem searching around

If you have the steam version, try to verify the game, it normally fixes. Try taking cover in both perspectives, seeing if it is only first/thrid person that does it. If this does not fix it, back up your save and re-install.

Hello wftisthesun! I'm having exactly the same issue when I press the key to get behinf cover. I tried everything but not working (2 mouses, changed keys, double check RAM spare, re-installed, etc.). Did you find any solution so far?

Some have said the GTA V exe in the 1.0335.1 update causes this, and that using the exe from the prior update fixes it.
