Is there a difference between installing a game onto an ssd or transferring the same game from a portable hdd plugged into your computer to the ssd?

Depends on the game.
Something from Steam or Origin can usually be transferred like that.
Some game you install by itself? Not gonna work.

r6 siege on uplay which can locate files but may need to clean install anyways but would installing to external hdd then transferring to sad cause an issue
