Game freezes at a specific room (DOOM)

Hello!

So, as the title suggests, when I am playing DOOM (2016) my game freezes EVERY TIME I reach a certain point in the game (it's not a demanding cutscene or anything, it's where you find the BFG.)

Every time this happens I can't tab out or do anything but shut the computer. Also worth mentioning that the sound keeps playing when everything freezes. I've played the game for 8 hours with high graphics, constant 60FPS and no issues whatsoever... I put up task manager on my 2nd monitor to see if anything was throttling or something, but no, nothing went even near 100% usage.

I have tried verifying the integrity of the game files, uninstalling and reinstalling all drivers and I just don't know what to do anymore... I just want to finish the damn game

Are any other games are also stucking? And if they are not then reinstall doom

Might be able to save your 'save spots', after researching where they are stored, and, uninstall game, full fresh reinstall of game....

Let's rule the possibility of a simple corruption of game software out first...

Afterwards, it's possible you discovered a unique glitch with your configuration and the latest Nvidia/AMD drivers.. .

If it was working earlier, and this problem is recent, you might be able to roll back one GPU driver version...

after a quick google, people with similar sounding issues have fixed it with:
Lowering graphical settings
disabling vsync
running in borderless windowed mode

No nothing else is, and really would like to avoid reinstalling since doom ain't no small game

If you're using vulkan, try opengl or vise versa in the game menu.

43.5 gb download doesnt tempt, but in order to finish it if it means that much.

Okay so windowed mode got me past that part, great! Afterwards I put on fullscreen again and got another freeze later on, so I guess I just have to play on windowed from now on! This might be the only solution I've got 😀
