Game glitch(ROTTR) or bad video card?

I bought a used GTX 1080 on Ebay several weeks ago(upgraded from a GTX 980). However while playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, in the part where Lara is climbing up the mountain, just before she sees the ruins, her legs actually sink into the mountain. I'm not sure if this is caused by a game glitch or a problem with the video card or video card driver. I did not witness this while playing on the 980. Although I haven't played ROTTR in a year and a half, and there have been many driver updates since, so I can't automatically assume it's the card itself. Does this appear to be a software problem(game or driver related) or a hardware problem?

That's just the game. GPU is fine.
