I have a game that when I install it it has no custom install or path choosing, so it forces me to install it on my small SSD. It's not a steam game. Any workaround you guys know about?

Solution
You can map a partition to a folder on an NTFS drive.

1. Create a folder where the game wants to install, exactly as it wants to name it.
2. In Disk Management console, shrink the partition on another drive, then create a new partition using the left over space and format it.
3. Right click on the partition you just created and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" and click Add on the window that pops up.
4. Browse to the folder you created or copy and paste the name of it into the dialog box and click OK
5. install the game.
Hey there, Tom.

That's a bit strange. Which game is it? If there's no custom option, the only thing I can think of is to change the default install location from C:\Program Files, to a different folder on one of your secondary storage drives. Here's how to do that on Windows 7: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/how-do-you-change-the-default-installation/73450b25-d794-4f18-9add-75253b893343.

However messing around with the registry might lead to some complications so I'd advise you to backup your registry just to be on the safe side: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/322756

Hope that helps.

like boogieman asks what game??

you can install to c,move the folder to another drive & create a mount point on c - it works 99% of the time.

So the game's called "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dawn of a New Era" and I've figured out a solution. Though not a perfect solution that won't work for everything. When it was done installing I tried just moving the game files to my other drive, and the game worked fine. Apparently this is quite an old game. Thanks for the tips guys, hope other people get some use out of them :)
