Game Lag

Hi guy's this is my first post so be kind, the problem is that when playing games (offline) im always lagging unless they are fairly old games my spec is -

CPU: AMD athalon ii quad core 645 overclocked to 3.6mhz
Mobo: Unknown
Chipset: AMD 760G, AMD K10
RAM: DIMM1: Team Group Team--Elite-1333 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz)
Display/Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 3100 (RS780L)
Harddrive: Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 ATA Device (1000 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II)

i think it must be the graphics that needs replacing.

any advice on what i can do to fix this problem or and good Graphics cards that are fairly cheap would be great.

i think you might change you graphic card for some thing better..
at least hd 5770 or gts 450 .. that's the minimum for 2009~2011 games, @ 22'' monitor or less
i highly recommend gtx 460 for $150.. 120 after rebet @ newegg for 1080p screen

Maybe becouade you have a 3 MHZ cpu ?

The ATI Radeon HD 3100 is a weak graphics card. That's your problem.

The HD3100 isn't on there, but I assume its below the HD 3200, which is way down there.

cheers guys i have managed to get a radeon 4550 hd 1gb from another pc and the games are running alot smoother now but im going to upgrade it to somthing around the £80 mark any recommendations.

yes a 4550 is slow. for $80 you should be able to get a 5670/6670, not great, but a LOT better than what you have.
