Every game I play now looks very choppy, but when I turn on vsync, it locks my frames to 60fps and I get a bit of stutters, even though I get 100+ fps with it off in some games

60hz monitor?

I guess your new to Pc gaming or coming from older hardware not able to achieve high frame rates?

Vsync should smooth out a lot of choppy playback but your main issue is the monitor isnt capable of showing you the maximum frame rates the gpu is putting out. For this you need 120/144hz monitor, Hz and fps go hand in hand. So 60hz = 60 fps.

Vsync caps the frame rate to match your screen. If you don't like Vsync, try Fast Sync instead. You'll see the option where you enable Vsync in NvidiaCP then disable vsync ingame. Some games allow you to cap frame rates too via option or config which may give better results than Vsync.

Fast Sync is pretty good so try that.

I recently changed monitors, both of them have 60hz refresh rate, but it seems it only happens in this new one...The reason why I dont want to cap the fps to 60 is because I frequently get a bit of annoying stutters, but when I get 90+ frames on games like MGSV or BF4, I get a really weird 30fps looking game but with the mouse and keyboard control smoothness of a 60 fps game, i've already tried fast v-sync,but it didn't work

What are the monitors? There will be a difference between ips and tn, maybe thats what you're seeing different?

Still 60hz, you will run into micro stutters on any monitor type without some sort of vsync on. 60hz monitor will be skipping and dropping frames trying to keep up with higher amount.

Theres not a lot you can do to help the situation if you dont want to use vsync. Capping the fps manually is pretty much all you can do.

There is a trick but it doesn't work for everyone. Use Vsync and if the game has any fps cap capability, cap the fps to 59.

Have you looked at game mode in your LG?

Just going to have to play around with Hz/fps settings see if you can smooth it out with the suggestions above.

I used play on a plasma tv and it had tearing and stutters if vsync wasn't on but i hated input lag. Found out if i capped the fps to 59 and had vsync on i got none of that, the tearing was gone and no micro stutters. That extra frame acts like a buffer, similar to triple buffering with how that works but as you know triple buffering only works in opengl games and i assume vulkan too.
