I installed CodeMasters Ashes Cricket 2009 on my Windows 8.1 laptop. The game worked normally for a week and then it started showing very slow frame rates (slow motion is an understatement). But then I created a new user account and accessed the same installation there, and it works fine. The problem came back on the new account, so I had to disable the account and create another new account to play the game. Can anybody explain this behavior ?
