Hello!
I mainly play War Thunder and began to experience heavy stuttering and the audio begins to repeat. I started up Task Manager to see if it was a RAM issue since i only have 8GB DDR4 . But ram generally stayed in about 60-70% same for CPU and GPU. I have also tried re-downloading the game.

Specs:
R3 1300X
PNY GTX 1606 6GB
Kingston Hyper X 8GB DDR4
Silicon Power 256GB SSD
Toshiba 500GB HDD (Scraped from an old laptop)

Thank You!!!

P.S. I don't know if this is the correct Category, if it isn't, sorry!

Have you checked temps?

If temps are fine my suspicion is the hdd. Is that 5400rpm model? Often laptops come with 5400rpm drives.

Has the game played fine before? Does it lag straight away or eventually goes to that state? If hdd is a 5400 drive, it's quite possible the pagefile / virtual memory is slowing the pc down as it's usage increases.

Yeah, the game use to run fine but i dont know whats causing this to happen. And its not installed on the HDD (Yes its 5400rpm), its on the SSD. And it lags straight into the state forcing me to restart the entire PC. I tried closing the window but it apparently lags the PC itself too. Ill have to check using MSI afterburner if it is the VM and for the temps.

P.S. I took a screenshot of Task Manager while i was running an ingame benchmark. https://imgur.com/1DTSErb .

What all is running that it's eating up that much of your memory/CPU??? I'm assuming the game is responsible for a lot of that, but if the PC remains laggy even after closing the game what're your usage stats like without the game open? While 65% of 8 GB shouldn't cause the symptoms you mentioned it just seems abnormally high unless you've got antivirus updates or windows updates or something running in the background bogging things down

Ok, so the GPU temp was around 69C, i was in the hanger (Menu) and it crashed. and now steam thinks the game was uninstalled although i can still open it from the folder.

I couldn't see the CPU temps, ill check the next time it happens. And do you mean verify Steam files or WT files? cause i cant verify WT since steam doesnt "see" the files anymore (even though its in the steam library folder).

As in the game is listed but says it's not installed?

Id copy the game folder for backup and get steam to reinstall it. Steam should scan the steamapps folder and continue with the files already there, just like if were to copy the whole apps folder to a new hdd / windows install.

Cpu temps is there in the list of osd options in ab.

CPU temps are staying at around 48-50C. Sometimes it does spike to 60C

Can do it that way or use the custom clean install option when you first run the nvidia driver.

Or you can use Display driver uninstaller which is the preferred way as it wipes all existing drivers that might still linger.

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Install in normal windows then afterwards boot to safe mode and run it. Click uninstall Nvidia drivers and restart option.
