So I play alot of demanding games such as ARK (ark survival evolved) and ARMA 3, i play other games like bf4 and csgo however ark and arma 3 i get a certain stutter and I can't fix it!!!!! I have a WD BLACK 2TB, WD BLUE 1TB, GTX 980, I7 4790K, 16GB RAM 2133mhz and running on windows 10. I have no idea why these games are receiving a stutter, I have high fps on both games but they just have this stutter which occurs every 20-40 seconds. Can my hard drive not write fast enough? faulty graphics card? faulty CPU please help!

ARK has some stutter issues when first starting a SOTF match for a bit, or when you change area's. I run it off my SSD and still get spikes, but eventually they settle down after a bit and then sometimes pop back up for a minute, etc. It's not even a beta game yet, don't use ARK to judge anything. lol.

ARMA3, cna't say anything about that.

Hey there, Mr1911Gamer!

I'm sorry to hear about your stutter issues with the WD HDDs while you're gaming. In order to determine the source of the issue, I'd recommend you to run the QUICK and the EXTENDED tests from WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics and check up on the health and S.M.A.R.T. status of your WD Black and WD Blue. Make sure you check up on the SMART attributes after the extended test. Here's a link to the available downloads on our website, the DLG tool should be second in the WD Software list: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=dbqcn6
Do you hear any unusual noises coming from the drives? Is the stutter occurring only while gaming?

Keep us posted!

I have 200 hours on ARK and I still receive the stutter, both my hard drives passed the smart test and they also passed a quick diagnostic check. I do not hear any unusual noises during gaming.

That's great, because we can sort of rule them out as a source of the issue for the moment.
I'd recommend you to check your motherboard manufacturer's website for the video and audio drivers and make sure they are all up-to-date. Since this happens only during those 2 games, I'd suggest you to try playing them without having any other program/utility running. There might be some background software, that is causing the stutters. Have you run any malware/antivirus scans? Have you considered re-installing the games, too?
Another thing you can check is the Task Manager when you launch the games and see what usage is spiking and potentially causing stutters.

Good luck. :)
