Hi everyone,
I am facing huge drops in frames whilst playing game on my 6 months old Gaming laptop. I have ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 (2022 version). I am playing medium demanding games like: Sekiro and cs2.
Initially the game will run smooth for like 5 minutes at 60 to 70 fps. then they will starting dropping as low as 15 fps and they keeping on oscillating between these points.
I have used MSI afterburner to monitor all the components the temperature are acceptable as always CPU at around 93 C and GPU at around 80 C.
The only think that stood out for me was V RAM clock

Although the system is a gaming notebook so thermals are always a issue hence I play in performance mode and not in turbo mode as the CPU temp will go beyond 97 C . But that was never a issue before.
I used to get smooth performance while playing titles like RDR2,horizon zero dawn or Apex legends. what could be the cause of such an issue

And i have updated all the drivers for Nvidia and AMD Adrenaline.

these are the specification of my system by the seller:
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6 VRAM MUX Switch Optimus with ROG Boost: 1475MHz* at 120W (1425MHz Boost Clock 50MHz OC, 100W 20W Dynamic Boost)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS Mobile Processor

any suggestion or insight will be helpful. or in case you need more info for diagnosis please let me know
thanks

I see many complaints about gaming laptops not performing well.
Usually gaming while plugged in.
One common cause is thermal throttling.
Laptop coolers must, of necessity be small and light.
The coolers are also relatively underpowered.
If you run an app such as HWMonitor or HWinfo, you will get the current, minimum, and maximum cpu temperatures. Set to see each individual core.
For intel processors, if you see a max of 100c. in red, it means you have throttled.
I think the number for ryzen is more like 85c-90c.
The cpu will lower it's multiplier and power draw to protect itself until the situation reverses.
At a lower multiplier, your cpu usage may well be at 100%
What can you do?
First, see that your cooler airways are clear and that the cooler fan is spinning.
Use a windows balanced power profile, not the performance profile.
Set a minimum cpu performance to something like 20%

It is counter-intuitive, but, try changing the windows balanced power profile advanced functions to a max of 90% instead of the default of 100%
You may not notice the reduced cpu performance.
