Question Gamepad not working specifically in games

I have an incredibly weird issue.

I've tested my X360 controller with some test app from the Windows store and it detects the inputs correctly, the charger light seems to be lit all the time and correctly activate Windows functions. However, when I enter any game, the gamepad just won't respond to them. Tried several, like Little Nightmares II, Hitman II or Styx, and even when launching games from within UnrealEngine or Unity (play mode), the gamepad just won't do anything other than responding to the Guide button. I'm in a Win10 desktop computer that has worked just fine for a bunch of years already. Any ideas?

some older games doesnt work with x360, u can install steam, there u can use controller settings to configure your gamepad, it should work in old games aswell

been using that same gamepad for some time in the same games, inside Steam. Not sure what has changed
