[SOLVED] Gamer Paralyzed After 20 Hour Session

I came across this link in the Drudge Report:

I know there are a lot of gamers here on Tom's so thought I would share this as a warning.

Can never be 100% sure how true those reports are. That said, games in the US and Europe had to implement tighter controls on in-game purchases, so that part I can certainly believe. And, note we're talking 20 straight hours. Probably in a terrible chair, given that it's an internet cafe. Ever have a foot completely fall asleep in a similar situation? I have. So this is not that large a step.

Moral of the story...life first, gaming second. And invest in a decent chair.

And take a break every now and again!!

Wow, I think one of my longest sessions with small breaks between Tasks Force (COH) was about 15 hours, but our group was always good about taking a 10-15 min between them (each TF being about 2-3 hours) and even that I still got quite sore from lack of movement.

You are right. The UK Daily Mail is kind of a tabloid, I think, but the story seems plausible. Drudge does like to link to some odd ball stories. I am not a gamer myself, but do spend a lot of time on the computer. But I get up several times an hour to get some water, chase cats off of furniture, etc.
