What I believe he is referring to is the way the game 'reads' the display used (the actual LCD), which typically for laptops is 'locked' hardware wise (like on many LCD TVs and such) to one setting though software (Nvidia Drivers) may allow the OS to 'software render' a different size (as you see in your control panel).

I think in this case the games (since both are similar titles from the same makers) might have predefined settings PER VIDEO CARDs. I had launched my own copy of the games and they were set for 3840x2560 (aka 4K) because I have a 1060 6GB, though my display (Insignia TV) doesn't do 4K at all and my settings are all at 1920x1080 60Hz.

I would as I suggested first (see above), then also do a STEAM (assuming that is...
I would say your laptop has build in limiter for 1080p resolution. Most of the time due to monitor limitation. Normally they can be reduced, but I have found several incompatible screen such as my current office screen that limit 16:9 scale.

Well you could make sure you updated the NVidia Drivers, then use the Geoforce Experience to force a specific graphic settings for those games, I am well aware of. But normally as mentioned for LAPTOPs and Games being programmed specifically for GRAPHICS, they sort of default to what the capability of the laptop screen (NOT EXTERNAL) screen should support reliably (not through resizing where your 'image' hangs off the edge of the 'screen' and you move your mouse around to see the rest of it.

I would try Experiance first, then see if you have the issue with a external monitor connected to this laptop.

FYI, a 1050 is not a real promising 'gaming card' especially for HIGH graphics settings like your pushing, you should stick to MEDIUM settings, resizing the screen down would be the SECOND option to increase FPS NOT the first.

Man I think you are getting this wrong, also if my screen limits me to 16:9 then why only 1080p while I have other 16: 9 resolution too.

If neither Experience nor checking the Integrity can change the display, then I would check the maker's website and see about your specific card and see if there is a SPECIFIC issue that may need to be addressed. As I said, I checked with a NVIDIA card, and it is also giving me a response OUTSIDE of my capability just as yours and I think it is the game itself design.
