I own a laptop with the specs of 8GB ram,2GB GTX960m,core i7 processor and four fans. All things going well.I recentely upgraded my graphic driver and i expected to my games to run smooth.First day is fine.Another day,all things screwed up.Games that run smoothly with the avarage fps of 40-55 now run at 30 or even lower. Here's what my problem like.I open the game and play smoothly. After 3 or 5 minutes, the game is unplayable. It stutters and slows. No matter what the resolution is,the fps is the same. But when i restart the game,it goes back to normal. Then,it collapses again.I don't know what to do.I don't know what causing this. If it is the graphic card that causing this,i will be fucked up because i used too much effort just to buy this laptop(sigh).

Solution
Well since it seems to be a timed thing (works for awhile and then starts to slow), I'm guessing that the GPU (less likely the CPU) is overheating and throttling. Then you shut the game down, the GPU cools, you restart it and it works well for awhile until the GPU overheats again.

It could just be a matter of dust needing to be cleaned out of the heatsink / fan assembly. On a laptop it's a little more difficult to clean than a desktop. You can still hit the vent area with compressed air to get the dust out, but you need to be careful not to get the fan spinning too fast, so use short bursts. If the fan spins at high speeds constantly, it could damage the fan bearing.

If after the cleaning you are still seeing high temps, I would...

If after the cleaning you are still seeing high temps, I would suggest going back to the original drivers. Just in case something changed in the drivers that cause the GPU to heat up more.

Solution
Try this,
First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

Go into your Windows Start Bar then search 'Device Manager' when you load that up look for the display adapters drop down box and it will show your integrated Intel HD Graphics which is built into Intel CPU's but this one will of been overridden by your GPU, you should see your GTX 960m show up in the drop down box.

Click the link to bring up a box and then go to driver and then click 'Roll Back Driver' this will reset to the previous driver. I think this will fix your problems as these problems happened when you changed your driver.

Regards

Ive only ever had one problem with a GTX 970 driver and I think it was because there was a corruption in it due to Nvidia experience doing something wrong. I install all my drivers on my own, I never trust 3rd part programs to do it. Just go to the GeForce site and get the latest driver.

So...,going back to the previous driver will fix these problems.I don't know but i downloaded that driver using a lot of internet bill. What a dump shit. But a lot of you guys telling me that i will surely try.Thank you,all of you.

No problem, glad we could help.

Just a word of warning, this is a common thing. Depending on how dusty it is where you are, it could occur relatively frequently. If you can find a program (like Afterburner) you can monitor your GPU temperature. This way if you know what you get now (when it's clean and working) then when the temperature starts to creep up there, you can get it cleaned before it becomes a problem.
