Games are very laggy need help pls!

Hello , for some reason ALL of my games became laggy at the same time but idk why... Probably becouse I upgraded my GPU and now my CPU is bottlenecking it but I want to make sure , what's the reason my games became so very laggy? Someone pls help PS: These games runned well before.

My specs:
GPU: GTX 660 2GB GDDR5
MOBO: NF520D3 ( Biostar )
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 3,0GHz
HDD: Seagate Barracuda Green 1GB SATA2
RAM: 2x2GB Transcend DDR3
PSU: Corsair GS 600 ( 600W )

athlon x2 is super weak for games, it is indeed your bottleneck.

What can I do to make my games run like before , I planned to buy an AMD FX 6350 but I gave all my money to my sister :S

My case is clean -.- and no , now win update or driver installation , and all background programs are closed and everything

Most definitely your processor that is causing latency. I recommend getting a new processor make sure it's the same socket.

But I planned buying an AMD FX 6300 and an Asrock 990FX Extreme 3 , is it ok for playing newer games?

overclock if you can but it doesnt look like youc an on that board or would be very limited.

here are you upgrade options unless you want to wait to get a better am3+ board and fx 6300( 6350 isnt really needed forgot to paste the cpus lol)

Which mobo should I buy? AsRock 990FX Extreme 3 or ASUS M5A99X Evo 2 R2.0 PS: If i buy the Asus M5 then I'll have to buy a new mouse too.

the asus for sure 6+2 phase vs 4+1 I believe, the asus is better for overclocking.


I did just grab a asrock 970 extreme 3 r2.0 to throw my other 8 core in even though its not the best board to do so, does have a nice bios look little confusing though

While I agree that the CPU is weak, It doesn't mean that a new cpu will fix the problem. ( A new cpu and board with a fresh win install might do it!)

I always update my GPU Driver when an update is available , but is it going to help if I remove the old ones , and if yes how can I do that?

re run the driver installer and hit uninstall from there, then reboot and reload the drivers again
