Games being displayed too big fort screen

I am using a gtx 970 at 1080p and whenever I launch GTA 5 or Rocket league the game is displayed too big for the screen. There are no options to change it and I know its not in the settings of the tv, any help is appreciated,

is the game on Full Screen Mode? Try pressing Alt+Enter when playing.
You can´t go to options to change your resolution in the game?
If you are playing on a TV, make shure that the options on the TV-Image settings/format are at Auto-Adjust or Scale to Fit. << Check this first.
