Games crash constantly when I have low space on my ssd

Hi everyone, I have my PC setup with a 128gb Samsung 850 and a 1tb hhd from seagate. All of my games are on my ssd and the rest is on my hhd. When my ssd gets a bit low on space (around the 8 gig mark) my games start crashing after a bit of playing, this has happened with overwatch, destiny 2, GTA v and bf1 so far. Whenever I free up a decent amount of space, so that there is 20 or so gb free my games stop crashing. I have 16 gigs or ram and don't see why I would need alot of space for Paige files so not sure why this is happening, any help? Thanks!

Suggest you try uninstalling a few things, moving things to the 1TB drive, and running some system cleaning proggies.

I understand that I may need to do that, it just seems odd that 8 gigs isn't enough for games to run without crashing, even 4 should be fine... I've ran other PC's with as little as 2 gb left, with 8 gigs of RAM and these games weren't crashing
