Hello everyone,
multiple games are crashing after short period of time when I play on highest settings,
I have no idea why, CPU is running at 4 GHz, temps are fine - CPU under 60 degrees, VCORES too, GPU temp - 70 tops, I also removed side panel of case for extra air
I played MGS: ground zeroes and Far Cry 3, they just crash after 10 minutes or something
I had a cheap mobo before and I was running CPU with stock cooler so it was 3.4 GHz to be safe, but now I bought new mobo and cooler and this problem just blows my mind, maybe there's something I'm overlooking, please help

here's my system specs:
CPU - AMD FX-8350
CPU cooler - 212 EVO
mobo - Asus Sabertooth 990FX R 2.0
GPU - zotac GTX 670
PSU - Cooler Master GX 650W
RAM - 8 GB kingston blu
SSD - samsung 840 evo

Your power supply is not good.

In fact it is on Johnny luck's LEMON LIST.

Run the OCCT test at your own risk.
It may kill your power supply and take out other things with it. Motherboard, Video card etc.....
Your best option is to replace it as soon as possible to avoid damage to other components.

Try to replace it with a power supply from Tier 1 or 2.
If budget is a problem a tier 3 unit will suffice but not recommended for constant stress.
A quality ( not cheapo) 500 watt unit is fine for your system.

thank you for reply, so basically I need a Gold PSU? I also want to buy GTX 980 so I don't think 500W will be enough, maybe 650W?
also my CPU temp is 37 when I have only Chrome opened is that ok? and my 212 EVO is at 1200 RPM

The OCCT CPU test is generally safe --- the OCCT CPU-Linpack can be a bit harsh (and certainly, the GPU-FurMark test goes well beyond reality, too).

You should likely wait for the new Radeons to pop up in the next few weeks.
If anything, those GTX 980 prices are likely to tumble.

With your current stuff, you should be in OC Heaven, and that's quite a fancy rig for big-time gaming.

edit: You should use AMD OverDrive to determine the *Thermal Margin* of your build -- at stock with your cooling you should be well beyond -30C -- probably -40C+ at idle.

The GTX 980 uses less power than your 670. So a good 500 watt power supply will run it fine. 600watt to 650watt if you go tier 3.
The units in tier 1-2 are rated for continuous output, the best units you can buy. as far as regulation, ripple, noise and electrical noise are concerned. They usually have higher efficiency ratings as well.
Tier 3 units barely pass the standards tests but usually have cheaper capacitors rated @40c. Which means once they get hot they start going out of spec, And have shorter life times.

Bronze, silver, gold ,platinum, titanium are efficiency ratings Not quality ratings.

Ok so today I played some Project CARS on max settings, it crashed after 5 minutes but then it didn't crash for like an hour, same thing mith MGS, it's like this crashes are happening randomly or something, also my PSU is not even hot when that happens and I had it for 2 years now, so are you really sure that PSU is the problem here or maybe there's something else going on with my system?
