Hello,

Since I had an ASUS TUF 1660 6GB I figured I could use an upgrade, so I got an Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER Gaming 3x White OC rev. 2.0.

After the upgrade I notice that games suddenly crash after about 1 - 2h of gaming, no error message, nothing, just poof... Or worse the whole system crashes and I get BSOD.

Games where crash/BSOD happens:
HITMAN 2
FARCRY 5
NO MAN'S SKY

Games that never crash:
Rocket League
League of Legends

My current set-up is:
PSU: nJoy Woden 650W 80 Plus Gold
MB :ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER Gaming 3x White OC rev. 2.0
RAM: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX
HDD: WD BLUE 1TB
SSD: HP S600 240 GB
4x 120mm fans (No name - came with the case)

BSOD error mesages recived:
KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILED
IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

Temps average around 45-50 C idle and spike around 75-80 when in load.
Everything is updated. Nothing is overclocked.

Also ran the RAM with Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and it came out ok.

What could be the problem and how can I identify it?
Any help is appreciated.

Kindly,
Radu

Your temps are a bit on the high side for idle. When you say 75-80 on load, what do you mean? If it's gaming, then it's high-ish too, if it's stress testing with Prime95 or something then that's okay.

What cooler are you using?

KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILED

This normally relates to a corrupt system file. Run a SFC and check for file integrity. Here's a how to with some solutions, including how to use the system file checker: https://www.enigmasoftware.com/how-...tVUjuY5aAeUnSNoPsKyawrO-Kg4OwdOxoCVscQAvD_BwE

Files can sometimes become corrupt from bad OC, restarts from failed OC etc. If the scan doesn't work, it might be worth installing windows again.

By load I meant while gaming.

For the CPU I'm using the stock cooler that came in the box.

Regarding SFC, I ran it now and it's fine:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Another thing that I would like to add. I got a program called WhoCrashed but can't really understand it:

Here's the crash from today:

On Fri 10/9/2020 2:41:19 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\100920-9093-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x3F3EA0)
Bugcheck code: 0xA (0x0, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF8022DACE85D)
Error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: NT Kernel & System
Bug check description: This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above. This is a software bug.
This bug check belongs to the crash dump test that you have performed with WhoCrashed or other software. It means that a crash dump file was properly written out.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

Maybe this helps?
