Since about March I have had issues with many of my games crashing. Mainly DirectX 11 titles. There seems to be three types of crashes.
1. This type of crash is a more common than the other. While I am playing a game, the screen will freeze, but all of the physics of the game will still happen. I can move around, shoot things, open the pause menu etc. None of this is displayed however, because the screen is frozen.
2. This crash is the least common. While I am playing a game, the screen will freeze and the audio from the game will be stuck in a loop, about 2-3 seconds long. After a minute or so, I get the classic "(insert game here) is not responding" message.
3. This crash is about as common as the first. The game I am playing will suddenly freeze, all sound and physics will stop and I will get an error message. Most error messages tell me nothing (just a timestamp), but there are two games that actually give me some information. GTA V and Beam.ng Drive both give me similar error messages. GTA tells me that "GFX DIRECT3D INIT failed to initialize, please reboot and restart the game. Reinstall if the error persists" (paraphrasing here). Beam.ng tells me that the GPU is not responding and gives me an error code. I looked up the error code and one person suggested verifying the cache through the Beam.ng launcher, which worked but only temporarily.
System specs:
Ryzen 5 1500x
GTX 1050 Ti
MSI B350M Mortar Arctic motherboard
450W 80+ Bronze power supply
2x4 GB 3000 mhz Corsair Vengeance memory running at 2133 mhz
I have tried basically everything I can. Driver reinstalls, game reinstalls, reinstalling Steam, verifying the cache, just plain looking up the problem. I even went so far as to reinstall windows 10, which did nothing.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, if you have anything that might work (anything at all, I'm pretty desperate at this point) please let me know!
