I was hoping I could get some tips on here - I'm having problems with my PC.
i5 9400F
EvGA RTX 2070S
16GB RAM
1TB SSD
550W PSU
The issue emerged just a few weeks ago after 2 years without problems - mind you I did not touch any of the hardware inside beforehand. The PC is all good until I put something a bit more demanding on. Any game really that demands a bit of work. The games crash after about 10 minutes of play. Sometimes the whole PC restarts, sometimes it's just the image that freezes, the sound carries on.
I thought this was a CPU overheating problem first so I bought a new air cooler, after installation it didn't make any difference really. So I started running some tests:
memory diagnostic came up with no issues
got the expected score off of cinebench
tried reinstalling the GPU driver
ran a full windows scan for malware etc also cleaned registry key stuff
And this is where I ran out of ideas... adding to the original theory, the CPU runs at around 30C ambient and creeps just above 60 during gaming, those are quite normal numbers as far as I am aware.
Would be awesome if I could get some ideas on what else to look into to help identify the issue. Could it be GPU related?
