Hello,

So I built a new computer in june of last year and I have had a problem with crahes in games ever since.

Most of the games that are crashing first freezes and then quits to desktop with no error messege, and some freezes the whole pc and requires a reset from the button on the case. The game that is crashing most often and freezes the whole pc most often is battlefield 5.

My specs:
9700k
Corsair 150i aio
2080ti
16gb 2666 corsair vengence
Prime z390-a
850w antec hcg psu

What I have tried:
I have removed all oc. Reinstalled graphics drivers with ddu. Tested the ram. Changed compatability settings for affected games and changed settings in the nvidia controllpanel. Even reinstalled Windows. Then I used msi afterburner to put a power limit on the gpu at 80% current, that seems to have made the problem less frequent but it also limits the performance.
I have the latest graphics drivers and bios update. And temps in system are low.
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be or what more I could try?
Would using 2 powercables for the gpu maybe work, since taking the power down to 80% seems to help.

Thanks.

have you made sure that when you installed your AiO, you installed it properly?

Check your temps for your CPU and your GPU when playing a game.

To do this in game the most effective way, install MSI Afterburner and setup the RivaTuner Statistics for in game overlay of stats.

If temps aren't an issue, then double check that you have everything plugged in right.

Sometimes just unseating the GPU from the PCIe slot and reseating it fixes problems.

Make sure that if you mess with anything inside your PC, that you first shutdown completely, then flip the switch on the PSU, then press and hold the power button on the case for 10 seconds to drain any residual electricity from the system so as not to accidentally short anything out.

Lastly, if all of that ends up looking ok, then backup any important files like pictures, documents, save data for games, etc. and do a clean install of Windows.

But before you go about doing that, I would have some necessary tips for how to do this properly, but it requires you to tell me what version of Windows you're running, and to tell me what kind of storage you have (this means telling me all your storage, i.e. if you have just an HDD/SSD or if you have more than one drive in your system)
