[SOLVED] Games crashing to desktop

For the past month whenever I am playing games, at a random time the game will freeze for a second and then crash to desktop with no errors. Before at the beginning of the month, the problem seemed to happen even when not playing games, and crashes google chrome, battle.net, etc.

full system spec? include make and model of the psu

cpu/gpu temp and usage during the game?
ram/ssd/hdd usage?
ram/ssd/hdd health test ?

malware scan?

What OS and build version are you on? If it's W10 build 1903, it has been known to cause crashes here and there (mostly in games). Nvidia has even been able to verify it to some degree. If on 1903, make sure you have the latest cumulative update installed. That stopped my crashes in Gears 5 and Wolfenstein Youngblood.

If you're having random non gaming related crashes though, I would try doing an SFC scan to check for and repair possible corrupt system files. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker
