Games Drop and FPS and are these temps high?

My games lately have been dropping to 30fps for a few seconds then going back up to where they usually hang around. I was told to check my temparatures on my computer to see if thats the reason why my games are doing it and these are it. http://prntscr.com/ddiruj I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on it. I am using open hardware monitor to check it.

CPU temps are fine, could be cooler but arent of any concern.

How about your GPU & RAM?
Do these Drops occur in all.games?

These drops happen in all games. This is a picture of my max temps when I was playing rainbow six siege. Those temps seem pretty high, what cooler are you using? The stock cooler that came with it or an aftermarket cooler? What are the ambient room temps where your pc is located?

My room stays at about 72 Fahrenheit and I dont know the specific cooler but its a pre filled liquid cooler and my pc is up on my desk with 6 inches of space around the computer.

Given the relatively cool room temps and a liquid cooler, those are pretty high temps. It might be worth shutting down the pc, removing the water cooling block from the cpu, cleaning off both the cooler base and the ihs of the cpu with some isopropyl alcohol and reapplying thermal paste with fresh to see if that improves the temps any. Have you dusted out the radiator or tried shining a light through it to verify it's not clogged with dust? Inexpensive air coolers would likely give better temps than that water cooler is at the moment.

I havent dusted it or replaced the paste since I got it like 1 1/2 years ago. Also something to note is that there is only the 1 fan and its the exhaust fan that I have and thats the one on the presealed liquid cooler. and could u recommend some cheap thermal paste that i could get?

Try dusting it out first. If you have a flashlight try shining it through the radiator with the pc turned off, there's probably dust built up in there between the fan and the radiator fins. Use something like compressed air to blow the dust out.

There are a variety of decent thermal pastes out there, arctic mx4, shin etsu, prolimatech pk1, noctua nt-h1. This is an inexpensive tube of decent thermal paste, same stuff I'm currently using.

If looking to clean off the thermal paste and you don't have any isopropyl rubbing alcohol consider picking some up. A bottle is usually only a dollar or two, try to find 91% or higher. Used with a lint free cloth it works well, cleans the metal lid on the cpu and the cooler base without leaving any residue and it evaporates pretty quickly.

You mentioned only one fan, the cooler fan. Is that your only case fan? What pc case are you using? If that's your only case fan then it might be worth looking at your case for fan mounts in the front to see if a fan can be installed there. At minimum a case should have an intake fan and exhaust fan, even if the aio radiator fan is doubling as the exhaust fan. Without decent airflow through the case everything is going to run hotter, the cpu, gpu, motherboard components like the vrm (voltage regulators to the cpu). If any of those things are heating up more than normal it could be causing problems.

oohhh I didnt actually see that there are 2 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan and the radiator fan is doubling as an exhaust fan I think. Also could I still use my computer until I get the thermal paste and the air duster?

You should be able to use it, it's not going to melt down. Though frequently running at 90c isn't exactly good for the cpu either. It depends on how long it's run like that, for a few days or a week not really an issue, for another several months it could degrade the cpu somewhat. If anything I'd check it for dust and try dusting it out before reapplying thermal paste, the thermal paste may be fine. If dusting it doesn't have much effect then I'd consider reapplying the thermal paste and reseating the cooler. If there still isn't much change then I'd look at the cooler to make sure the pump is running like it should be or consider replacing the cooler.

Replacing the cooler may be an expensive fix to simple dust build up, replacing the thermal paste may have little effect if the radiator is still dirty. Sort of a process of elimination.

synphul. I just wanted to update you that I opened my case and it was horrifying I had 2 inches of dust all on my intake fans. Not much dust anywhere else I got what I could but there was still a little resudue left behind. I started up ark survival evolved and put everything on ultra settings and my temperatures didnt even break 76c. When they would have easily went to 80+. Thanks for the advice man
