Games feel laggy despite 100+ fps

I have two Asus 144hz VG248QE monitors hooked up to a MSI GTX 1060 (Overclocked to 1.9GHz) via DisplayPort and an i5 6600k(Stock) . I mainly play CSGO competitively, so smooth fps is a must. I have V-Sync off and I get about 220 fps on average. However, the game sometimes drops to 100-150, and it feels really choppy/laggy, when it should still feel buttery smooth. Same with Bioshock Infinite. I uninstalled Nvidia Experience but I'm not sure if that made any changes. I don't know much about monitors and I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Uninstall your graphics drivers using DDU (display driver uninstaller) and then install the latest drivers from nvidia's website.

Hi,

Most likely you have a 60hz monitor and you are getting screen tearing because the gpu force more frame that it can handle.
Try vsync on to see if it helps

No, both monitors are set to 144Hz. Enabling V-sync on CSGO locks the fps to 144, which is really smooth, yet the problem still occurs when it drops to 100 or less.

Big fps variances like going from 200 to 100 fps will make it feel worse than a constant 100fps. Try frame rate capping at 150

I did by enabling v-sync, which caps the games at 144. I would get 144Hz for a while then when it drops to around 100 it feels as if it's 30 fps.

Wiht or without V-sync, the problem occurs. CPU temp is around 40 and GPU around 60
