Games freeze a few seconds at random times and then unfreeze

My games freeze a few seconds at a time at random points during gaming and my fps drops to zero at that time, I have no idea what could cause this and I would appreciate any help.

Something you have running in the background? Disable stuff in the TRAY that you don't need, uninstall stuff that you can run on an as-need basis only.
Run CCleaner and do the Clean and Registry portions both. If it finds a ton of crap, run it again.
Do a MalwareBytes scan for poorly written malware that may be hogging resources.
