Games Freeze and stutter

Since i can remember, my pc has always stuttered and frozen within games, especially in graphically intensive areas such as a town. My PC has good hardware and produces a good fps but continues to freeze and the render the games unplayable. I have tried everything i can think of to stop the freezing.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

My specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz
GPU: Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 6GB
Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 LGA1150
