games freezing briefly then losing all fps then coming back?

so ill be playing games like normal, then instantly it will freeze, then come back 3/5 seconds later with fps drops for 60 down to 30 for like 3/5 seconds then back to normal, then repeat.....

also when i press windows i notice in gpu tweak my gpu clock mhz is like as if it was idle not in game??

im i7-8700k @3.70ghz gtx 1080ti 32gb ram?

when i reinstall driver it helps for a hour i guess? but i need a permanent fix please help 🙁

If reinstalling the driver helped, it could be the driver itself, try rolling back the driver to one slightly older and that should hopefully fix your problem.

there has been 2 new driver updates since this issue started? should i still roll back?

Try the new drivers, if your driver had an issue it would have been reported to NVidia and the new drivers should have a patch. If not then roll back to a known working driver you have used before.

next time it happens ill roll back drivers, ill wait until the issue happens again, as i reinstalled just before i made this post
