Hello, I seriously cant figure this out so please help and bare with me.

Ive been having a freezing issue but only for bigger games like Rainbow6Seige, Sea of Thieves, destiny 2 ect. When i play games like rocket league, Mx bikes, sons of the forest ect ive never came across freezing issues. Basically what happens is, after anywhere from 3-8 hours of playing, my game freezes completely and i cant exit out if the game unless i bring up task manager and click end task on whatever game im playing. More often then not it freezes anywhere from 5-8 hrs but i have had a few time where it freezes sooner. After i end task my pc acts as if it’s completely fine, no issues whatsoever. I pull up the game again and itll freeze again anywhere from 3-8 hrs. I know freezing can happen for a million reasons so heres what ive tried already, sfc scan, memory scan, virus scan with Kaspersky, disk scan, updated drivers, updated windows, updated BIOS, updated my cpu with AMD, deleted temp files, disabled unwanted background apps, changed my system property to run on performance, ive ran a stress test and ive taken off the glass panel.

For some insight i have a high end PC and ive only had it for 6-7 months. The system is not overclocked and i have the fans set to automatic after running a test on best optimal fan speeds.
My specs include,
Hyte y60 case
All 4 sticks of G skill Trident Z DDR5 running at 6400mhz with a total of 64gb eqch stick holding 16gb
Samsung 970 evo plus ssd holding 2tb
Ryzen 9 7950X 16 core cpu
ASUS ROG Strix X670E-A motherboard
Gigabyte geforce rtx 4070ti aero graphics card
4 lian li 120mm fans and 4 140mm fans
Lian li 360mm liquid cpu cooler
Corsair RM1000X power supple

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there,

I'm not an expert, but I can offer some suggestions based on my own experiences. It sounds like you've already done quite a bit to troubleshoot the issue. Considering that the freezing only happens with bigger games, it could be related to the demand these games put on your system. Here are a few more things you could try:

Check temperatures: Make sure your CPU and GPU temperatures are within safe limits while gaming. You can use software like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures.

Check GPU drivers: Although you mentioned updating drivers, sometimes newer updates can introduce issues. You could try rolling back to a slightly older version of your GPU driver to see if that helps.

Adjust in-game settings: Lowering some graphics settings in the games that are freezing might reduce the strain on your system.

Check background processes: Ensure there are no unnecessary background processes consuming resources while gaming. You can use the Task Manager to check for any resource-intensive apps.

Verify game files: If you're using Steam, you can verify the integrity of the game files to make sure none are corrupted.

Monitor CPU/GPU usage: While gaming, keep an eye on your CPU and GPU usage to see if there are any spikes or irregular behavior.

Power supply issues: Although your PSU seems sufficient, it's worth double-checking that all power connections are secure.

Check for BIOS updates: Visit the motherboard manufacturer's website to see if there are any newer BIOS updates available that might address compatibility issues.

If the problem persists, you might want to reach out to more tech-savvy communities or forums where experts can help you in-depth. Good luck, and I hope you find a solution soon!

Another possibility, in addition to the above, is RAM. You have a lot of installed RAM for gaming and its possible that Windows isn't accessing some RAM pages until you're well into a game.

I would try removing 2 sticks of RAM - you nay well not even notice. Then swap sticks and try the other two. See whether it freezes on one pair but not the other.

Thank you for the help, unfortunately since it takes so long to actually freeze i wont have an awnser whether or not it worked but I will definitely be testing all these. Thank you!!
