Hello. Whenever I play games on my PC they start with no lag, and everything is fine. But, as time goes on, after about an hour and so, my fps just slowly drops. For example, I was playing CS:S this morning. I played it for about an hour. At first my FPS was around 30, and when I stopped playing it was about 16. It slowly drops down, and does this for every game I own. usually the fps drops happen at the same time for the more graphic intensive games (like Tera or Skyrim) and less intensive, older games (Like Jedi academy and Cs:s). It isn't only just this, sometimes my graphics driver stops responding and crashes then recovers. It has been doing this for about a year, so around 2 months ago I decided to upgrade my graphics card because I thought that might be the problem. (Used to have an nvidia gtx 550, upgraded to the R9 280x 3gb). It is nearly impossible to play games competitively because of this, and makes it hard to enjoy them most of the time. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix this? And by the way, my card still sometimes crashes then recoveres with my new card, but not as frequent as it used to. The fps drops obviously still persist. I'll post my specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Processor
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
RAM: 16gb
Graphics card: R9 280x 3gb
PSU: 650 watt
