Games get slow when plugging in USB device

Hey everyone

I recently put together a new rig, and it seems that whenever I am playing a game and plug in a usb device, my games drop to about 30 fps (usually around 120). The devices I have noticed this with are an Xbox One controller and my iPhone. When I restart my computer with the device already connected, the issues are nonexistent. Does anyone has any idea as to what could be causing this issue? Thanks!

Yes, everything is updated. I've had the pc for a month now and haven't noticed this issue until the past week or so.

That sounds like Windows keeps trying to install drivers for the devices and in doing so eats up CPU power. It shouldn't be doing that. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to fix that, if that is indeed the issue.

I think it's got something to do with drivers and how your copy of windows reacts whenever anything is plugged in. Try disabling auto updates or reinstall them after rolling back. see if that works.
