Question Games keep crashing linked to hardrive

Hi, I have a 2060, i5 9400f, 16gb ram and yet my not hard to run games keep crashing. Whenever these crashes happen file explorer opens and then the games just stops. This also happens when downloading games on steam where the files will open and then the download will just pause, normally when I have downloaded a game most of the files are corrupted anyway. I'm fairly sure this is due to my hard drive as any games I'm downloading or playing on my SSD seem to work fine. If any one knows a fix or have had this would be a really appreciated.

It's only 2 months old so I hope not

test with another sata port/cable? different power cable?
