Hi all! New here, just made an account to see if anyone can help me fix my rig. Shes a bit old now (9 years), recently upgraded the Ram but as title says still having issues. These issues started before the Ram upgrade and was hoping it would resolve the issues but hasnt done so.

Currently trying to fault find but as I have no spares its becoming a costly upgrading process. Looking to replace the cooling system, reseat CPU and reapply thermal paste soon. Currently looking at an NZXT kraken Elite but unsure of which measurement to get (240mm, 280mm, 360mm)

Mb is an Asrock x99 extreme 11

GPU is a Geforce GTX.

Cpu is an i75930k @ 3.5ghz

Any advice or pointers would help me out.

Many thanks!

I assume your PSU is also 9 years old, its probably the fault here.

Please list your PSU brand/model and its age (if its over 9 yrs)

It could also be a overheating issue, so please list your temps (in-game & idle [both CPU and GPU])

So the PSU is an Ax860i

I'm trying to post screenshots but i cant seem to figure it out haha

So at idle:
CPU 4% load, temp 29*C, Clock @ 3.5 GHz, Fan 2339 rpm.

GPU 0% load, temp 43*C, clock 135 MHz, fan 1050 rpm

When i booted up a game and was watching a replay in it:

CPU 39% load, temp 37*C, Clock 3.5 GHz, fan 2364 rpm

GPU 21% load, Temp 77*C (yikes), clock 987 MHz, fan 1803 rpm.

With the information available i would say PSU.

Can you please give full system specs, make and model of everything and how old is the PSU
Case: NZXT Phatnom 860 Ultra tower,

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5930K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz,

Ram: Kingston Fury 64.0 GB (63.9 GB usable)

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan X

MB: is an Asrock x99 exteme 11

PSU: Ax860i Corsair

2x SSD
2x HDD

Monitor is 3440 x 1440, 60Hz

Hope this helps.

Download the latest drivers for your GPU from Nvidia.
Download DDU and uninstall your GPU drivers.
When windows reboots remove your network cable so windows doesnt try to reinstall drivers for the card. Once in windows install the GPU driver that you had downloaded, then plug your network cable back in.

It could be a PSU problem, while it was a good unit when they first came out, it is also 9 years old now and PSU's deteriorate over time.

Ok I've done this just now, I'll let you know if the problem persists.

Sadly didn't work. Was playing Lethal company and it crashed. Couldn't get a GPU read but it dropped from 45% to 0% (Load) at the point of crashing, Other variables like temp were unavailable or N/A.

This is using NZXT Cam.

So using the NZXT Cam, I suspect that the GPU is overheating and closing applications down. As temps seem to be rising to 83*C, crash occurs, then temp, load, Fan RPM all drop and stabilize. Idle the Temp is now 46*C

Is it possible a heat sensor is broken or something? What steps can i take?
