Games Keep Crashing

I have NO idea what it could possibly be.

I've updated all sorts of drivers, I've completely uninstalled graphics card drivers and fresh installed brand new ones for my GTX 1070. Games. Keep. Crashing.

It's been happening since I set my Asus Strix z270 motherboard back to default on accident, but it was also right after I installed Nvidia's newest drivers. I'm not sure if it's ram, because the ram is being picked up on MSI afterburner as 16GBs

I haven't tried removing ram sticks and seeing if that fixes the problem. But my more higher intense games are crashing, such as F1 2017 and BeamNG.Drive. The audio just freezes for 7 seconds tops and then blacks to the desktop for F1 2017, and for BeamNG.Drive I've had multiple blue screens of death about all sorts of things. I've cleaned the registry with CCleaner as much as I have been able to, but nothing appears to be working. I turned to the F1 2017 developers and developers of BeamNG.Drive for help, but it was always the same thing: "Make sure your drivers are up to date, and your GPU isn't overheating." Which it isn't. Please help! Here are my specs:

Intel Core i7 7700k
Asus Strix Nvidia GTX 1070
Seagate 2TB HDD
SanDisk 250GB SSD
ASUS Strix z270 LGA 1151
16GB Corsair Vengeance

ok so if I understand your issue : when trying to play games, your screen freezes, you get audio for a moment and either the screen remains black or you get a blue screen of death ?

if that is your problem, goto your hard drive c: go to the minidump folder and upload the newest files and give us the link so we can examine the reason(s) why your system is giving your BSOD.

also you failed to mention your power supply make and model number.

EVGA 850 WATT BQ.

I know it's not the power supply. The computer only started doing this near the end of September.

When the screen goes black it, it will crash to the desktop shortly after. And sometimes the game does just freeze and the BSOD occurs.
Where should I upload the files?

Also I should add that I've tried updating some drivers, as well as system restoring, so only 1 file is appearing. Unless that's suppose to happen.
