Games keep minimizing (LoL & Shadow of mordor)

Hi all, since a few weeks my computer minimizes my games every now and then. Can't really think of any big changes other than the fact I started playing with a playstation controller for some games. However, the first week or two after installing this, I never got any problems.

I saw similar problems and people stating taskbar screenshot might help, so heres that if it might help.

you may wanna check Event Viewer for red error signs.

Could you elaborate a bit? I found how to open the event manager but don't really understand how to use it...

is the controller plugged in while the games are minimizing?
have you tried running the games in windowed mode? (preferably borderless)

Hi Kapitalistas, thanks for your video, i'm going to try this now to see if any errors pop up.

James Mason: I did try playing games without the controller plugged in (while using keyboard) but same problem happened. Havent tried windowed mode yet.

Hi,
I checked the event logs during minimizes but didnt show any error reports (not even when i clicked refresh & sorted by date) so I guess that doesn't help any further :-(
I also did an anti malware bytes, CCleaner & Spybot run yesterday which did lead to some cleanups, but still same issue.

Try disabling the nvidia shield streaming service had a similar issue and disabled it works fine now

Two thoughts pop into mind:
1) Some background app decided it needed a response from you. Errors can do this, but I've had Windows auto-update ask me if I wanted to update (there is a setting to prevent it from interrupting you).

2) Do you have keys mapped to alt and tab? Even if you are using a controller, it might be using alt and tab, or alt-enter, or some other key combination that will send you to the desktop. While most games are smart and won't allow this to happen, I find myself doing it occasionally in some games.

Hi guys,

Thanks all for your replies and ideas, i'm not sure what makes my games minimizes, don't think it's an alt tab combo but today I installed gamebooster and the problem seems to be gone. I'll test a bit more coming days, if it does come back I might try some solutions I havent tried yet. Unfortunately I'm too much of a PC noob to try all the things mentioned in the last post (updating bios and all that sounds scary to me 😛)
