Games keeps crashing

sometimes they crash with a device removed error
sometimes they freeze
sometimes i get a bug reporter
sometimes i get no error
i get the occasional bsod system service exception and irql not less or equal
sometimes the monitor loses signal

things I've tried

resetting windows
DISM SFC and chkdsk
setting cpu and gpu to stock
3 different graphic drivers
changing firewall
removing geforce experience
updating bios and chipset drivers
temps are fine

memtest86 occt and furmark run fine

16GB ram 3000mhz cl16 1.5v
Asus tuf x470
MSI 2070 gaming z
1000w corsair power supply
windows 10 on nvme drive
