well i bought my new laptop recently.the problem is when i try to play games i have to re install my graphic driver every time i restart my lap after few hours unless i always get unplayable frame rates but re installing graphic driver fixes this.I removed old drivers and and re installed the drivers still did not work, also i don't have asus gamer OSD which seems cause the same trouble to some others.well i can still play games but its very annoying to reinstall the drivers again and again :C please give a solution .

i have a dell inspiron15 3542
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz
8gb ram
Geforce 840m 2gb
Windows 8.1 64-bit

Ah, good old driver hell.

There are only one likely thing that could be happening that comes to mind (at the moment, at least):
Your integrated graphics are being enabled by default after reboot - this would explain why FPS is good when the drivers are first installed (and likely automatically enabled) but tank after reboot (Windows default values get re-applied). Easy thing to check, just go into the NVidia control panel and check the application settings.

thx for the quick reply 😀 that was exactly what was happening doesn't auto suppose to select the nvidia card for games etc .anyway thanks a lot 😀

No problem - happy gaming!

i thought it fixed the problem but still it runs on very unplayable fps unless i install the drivers, weird thing is it only happen if i started the laptop after some time if i restart or started instantly it works ok. also i am sure the laptop is using the dedicated vga because i tried running with the integrated one and the performance are worse :C

Just curious, what games (and at what settings) are you testing all this? Are you testing it across multiple games? If so, which ones?
