Games Lag When Running on Battery

Whenever I run Fortnite on my laptop with my monitor and charging at home, the laptop runs smoothly at around 120 fps. Even, if I am not using a monitor, Fortnite runs smoothly while charging. But, when I am on battery, monitor or not, it is super laggy and I get around 30 fps. I am not sure why. I checked my settings and the performance is max on battery and charging. Is there a way to fix this?

I assume you have a graphics card in the laptop, I would check the Nvidia control panel to see if there is a separate setting for performance mode while on battery.

Battery power is limited which means your system will not operate on maximum potential which of course results in limited frames.
