Games lagging after 1 week of no lag

So I've been getting massive lag for games after playing them for 1 week. If I start up a game for the first time it works fine but after a week to a month of playing the game it suddenly starts lagging the the only fix I know is to lower the resolution by a quarter of what it was. Help pls

My Specs:
Intel Core i7 7700HQ
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050ti
4GB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit

For a 64bit system 4GB of RAM are rather low. 1GB of that will be used by Windows 10 even before you start a game.

So you can either buy more RAM or you can try to disable any task that Windows 10 has running that you do not really need, e.g. if the machine is used mostly for gaming you might not need the Windows Indexing Service (that speeds up search querys if you ever search for a file or the content of a file)
