games lagging suddenly after hdd install

my games used to run fine now they are all lagging. All I did was install a new secondary hard drive (because other one failed) and loaded games onto it and it started. Even gamed on the boot SSD are affected. Any suggestions?

The first thing you may want to do is to back up the data stored on the drive.
