Games locking up

Hello ppl

A few days ago i got a gtx460 and this card is amazing, but my games are locking up my pc and I have to reset the pc, I got a new PSU a new hard disk, fresh XP pro install, latest drivers and still my pc locks when gaming, the only thing I haven't change is the stock processor fan, is this heat related? Thanks

FRESH XP PRO INSTALL ON NEW HARD DISK

GPU IDLE TEMP: 36c

CPU IDLE: 56c

GAMING: CPU 87 PEAKING 90 c

GAMING:VIDCARD GPU 39 TO 41c

GAME USED: UT3

YES I THINK IT IS HEAT RELATED PROBLEM

Your idle CPU temp is quite high.Revert everything back to stock speeds and check again(your problem maybe caused by overheating or unstable OC)

I will like to thank you, this is what I did, re fixed the fans orientation, got the cables tied up, re applied paste on processor. and lower my cpu voltage, it was at 1.256v lowered to 1.17 and no lockups whatsoever. thanks for the help.

Glad to hear it, i guess it was an unstable OC which caused high temps(due to voltage) and instability.
