Dear Tom's hardware.

I recently did a clean install of Windows 8.1, updated all the drivers & installed a few games:

Path of Exile & SimCity 5 to test the problem of my correct resolution of 1920x1080 not being noticed by the ingame settings.

And I can confirm that even after the clean install, it is the same problem:

Upon running SimCity 5, there's no option to pick a resolution above:

1680x1050 60hz
1680x1050 59hz

But my computer has run (On Windows 7) & is currently running on desktop at 1920x1080.

I've tried a reinstall more than twice now, so I'm not doing that again.

Some information:

Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Formula
CPU: Intel i7 3770k
GPU: Single Nvidea GeForce GTX 660 Ti (Asus) (Stock)
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
Memory: Corsair Vengence 16GB
Monitor: 23" Edge10
Decent aftermarket cooler & case cooling all good.

Would anyone like to help me in troubleshooting this?

Do you mean the new SimCity? I don't think I have ever heard of SimCity 5...

Check the setting in your GeForce Experience software. It will sometimes override game settings like resolution in order to get better 'experience' in the form of frame rate and other settings. Most of the time it works fine... but sometimes that software can be quite annoying.

The problem is still there when I don't use experience to launch the game.
I launch it as per normal through the Desktop & the resolution of 1920x1080 is not available.

Could it be an issue with the game manufacturer itself not supporting Windows 8.1 on higher resolutions?
World of warcraft let me choose the higher resolution of 1920x1080 but Path of Exile & SimCity 2013 does not let me.

It's just hard to believe that Simcity wouldn't support it, I can understand PoE but SimCity should be able to. I don't see any problems coming up on google like mine, so I thought it was just me & was hoping if anyone knew any angles to tackle this on.
