Games on a Matrox, possible?

I really like everything I've heard about the Matrox G550 and P650 cards in terms of their 2D and dual monitor capablilities. However, I will ocasionally (read once or twice a year) play a game that I hear about from my friends. Can the Matrox cards run 3D games at all? Would it perform OK on really old games like Age of Empires I, or the old Star Craft?

It won't play new games well at all.

However, AoE and Starcraft are not 3D, so they will run on a P120MHZ anyday!
You don't need a fancy card to play old games, including Quake 3. Anything above it though, will have your card begging for a better architecture.


PS: Once or twice a year? 😱 !
