I have a 160 GB sata 2 drive and a 120 GB ide drive. Is it better to run the games on a diferent drive than windows? Right now I use the sata drive for windows and games and the ide drive for storage? Also windows loads faster on the ide?

In theory your sata drive should have the advantage over IDE. But the numbers, like that on ata 133 are just marginal. A quick answer is leave your OS Sata native along with apps and games.

...and then use the IDE drive to store all of the installers for the programs you want to keep, in case you ever have to format the SATA for any reason.

You are a very silly man, and you will pay the cost of your silly decision. Do NOT use any RAID in a desktop except RAID1.

why am i silly for doing this?? I know the part where if one drive fails I loose all my data, whick isnt a big risk I back up my IMPORTANT data. The chance of athe hdd to fail anyways is pretty low.

Yeah I can believe that. Becuase they just rely on the RAID 0 array. Which you cant do. That is one of the reasons why i have a EIDE and a external hdd is to keep important seperated from apps and games.

Also once hte hdd's are in raid you cant access SMART info or anything like that??
