Hello!

I have been using my custom build PC for some time now and been able to play games on the highest settings and get steady good FPS. However, about 2 or 3 days ago, my computer has been struggling very hard to play games. For example, I used to be able to play Fortnite on highest settings at ~120-180FPS, now I run it at medium settings at around 20-30FPS. A bunch of other games have struggled too, like League of Legends I would be able to run at a solid 60FPS the entire game, but now it takes noticeable dips down to 40FPS. When i look at task manager when I play games, my ram and CPU don't push 70% utilization. Only thing that I noticed was that my MSI Live Updater cannot update since it says the newest version does not support my motherboard. I am hoping somebody can help me find a solution as I am entirely confused by what happened. I don't think having MSI updater not work on my motherboard cause this to happen so suddenly, or would I need to buy a new motherboard?

Specs of my computer:
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700 @3.40GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1070
RAM: 8GB

Solution
did you install geforce experience? and have the settings "optimized".

as for msi afterburner, could you bring up the cpu usage/gpu usage/ram usage/ vram usage/and frame gen graph in OSD. (don't tab out)

I turned on ultimate performance mode and took a screenshot of Fortnite with my cpu usage and etc;
I tried to attach the image to my original post, but I do not see it.

Here is a link to it; https://imgur.com/a/IRLbsMo

Will try MSI Afterburner and come back, my FPS in fortnite was 49 when i took the screenshot.

My FPS increases when I am tabbed out or have an overlay, so it displays I have 56 FPS while not in the game, but when I tab back in, it goes back to 20-30.
