Previous GPU gtx560ti running Crysis 2 1080p 30-40fps dx11
New GPU gtx580 (3gb) Crysis 2 menus look rubbish (no AA, cursor lag) and game runs weird (looks very pretty!) but almost like slow mo, stuttery with video and audio.

Second latest drives installed from nVidia (try to install latest but CTD), and weirdly GeForce experience wont allow me to Optimise even though system exceeds requirements.

I have just ordered Shadow of Mordor so i'm panicking slightly!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm pretty sure my PSU is sufficient, and I don't think my CPU would be a choke point...

Thanks for your response.
I'll have another look as first time i tried it wasn't mounted as i got no signal from hdmi cable. Last night i opened up the PC again and, took card out, put in back in until it clicked. It has a six pin and eight pin connector whereas my old card was just two six pins but my PSU's dvi cables have the extra pins so all hooked up correctly as far as I can tell. I then got a signal, driver installation was a bit of a ball ache as per above but it now recognises native resolution and desktop is in 1080p. Plus the fans on the GPU are running so it must be getting power. Is there any kind of utility i can run to be sure it's hooked up correctly and getting the right amount of juice?

I'm assuming it's getting power from the PSU and not just the mobo but I dont know how to be sure.

If every thing is running fine and giving appropriate fps then its ok
but if not then there is problem with the wattage

I'm not sure how I would check wattage...any pointers?
Also I forgot to mention, when I launched the game it asked for my activation code (weird as i've had the game installed for about 18months now) I dont know if that's relevant.

In your opinion is the PSU sufficient?

Problem solved. Crysis 2 was the only game I tried, the problem was with the game, it was forcing a refresh rate of 24hz. When I changed to 60hz works like a charm.

Thanks dude
