Games start to lag when changing my volume.

Hello, forumers!

I play probably the lowest-end games out there like Minecraft and Roblox. But for whatever reason, whenever I change my volume, my game starts to become very choppy until the volume UI goes away. The same lag also occurs when the taskbar is visible, or I am not in fullscreen.

Any knowledge helps!

SPECIFICATIONS:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1400

GPU: Radeon RX 580 4 GB (manufactured by AMD themselves (prebuilt))

Solution
Some resource running low or being maxed out.

Task Manager will probably help. And Resource Monitor as well.

Open it after booting up but before playing any games, etc..

Just watch what your system is doing for awhile and then slide the window to one side.

Then open a game, change the volume, etc. as you normally do. Watch Task Manager to see what resource jumps in usage.

Something bottlenecking and slowing performance.

Need to identify what that resource is before a fix can be determined and applied.

Hopefully just an updated driver perhaps....

In any case watch and test things some. Keep notes and look for some common factor with respect to what is running and the choppiness that develops.
