Question Games stutters, is my PSU failing?

Failing PSU? Game stutters pretty much fixed after turning off CPU overclock - but worked fine with OC before ?

I've been trying to diagnose an issue with my games micro-stuttering. The issue initially started out of no where with no issues previously. I noticed the lamp on desk would flicker when the stutters would get worse. I thought it might have been house power. Tested it out at another house, still got the micro-stutters. I got a BSOD that said BattleEye was the culprit upon opening Tarkov (game). PC restarted fine. Then the next morning I had to switch the PSU power button off and then on to start the computer up again. The other day I set my BIOS to default settings, and re enabled XMP (effectively un-doing CPU overclock), and micro stutters are pretty much gone, but still have been experiencing some random FPS drops. Could it be my PSU? I am also starting to get some audio clicks and crackling.

Edit; Reverting overclock ended up not being a fix.

That usually is an indication of either the PSU degrading or ending up being faulty or that the power/wiring in your house lacks proper grounding. It's most definitely power related. Also, how old is the PSU in your platform?

What BIOS version are you working with on your motherboard? Version for your OS? You should ideally be on version 20H2 for Windows 10. One very big oddity, how on Earth do you have a 7th gen i7 K suffix processor paired with a Z490 chipset motherboard?

My bad, I meant to type 10700k! I had thought it might have been the power in the house but I was still having stuttering issues at my parents as well. PSU is only a few months old. Is it possible that a faulty PSU would cause my lamp to also fluctuate?

So I reinstalled Nvidia drivers with DDU and I experienced the most stutterless/stable fps I've seen since before the issue arose and I totally thought I figured out the issue since I thought I had forgotten to do that beforehand, and everything was good for like 2-3 hours, then the stuttering came back. Latencymon tests are coming clean, and they weren't before running DDU. I swear games were running even better than before the issues came about. I am so let down. This just confuses me even more. Any ideas?

I'm going to update BIOS, do a fresh install of Windows...if still happening, try a new PSU..if still not working get an electrician...

Should I update BIOS before or after Windows install or does the order not matter?
