I have searched the forums and found nothing on this so far and I THINK this is the right forum to post in. So my question is...

What are some games that are playable with:
Graphics card: nVidia 7300 LE 64MB
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
RAM: 1GB DDR2 (which I plan on upgrading to 2GB very soon)
OS: Windows XP (sorry but I haven't checked if it is 32bit or 64bit. I hope that won't be a problem) (I also plan on installing Windows 7 quite soon)

It is in fact a HP Pavilion g3028cx which my dad's friend didn't want anymore. Here is a link to it:

I was also wondering what would be a good graphics card to play some better games with. I'm hoping for something between $50 and $100 that works with the motherboard.
Here is a link to the motherboard:

So my main concern are games that can be played with the current graphics card and RAM. Then it is what would be a better graphics card for between 50 and 100 dollars that I can play better games with.

Note: I am also getting a new PC soon in July if I get good half-yearly results (I'm down-under in Australia). I'm likely to get that so would you recommend me upgrading anything from this current PC or just keeping it as it is.

Thank you very much (I am sorry if I have formatted this badly)

important than gaming!!!

especially since a nice new system is at stake LOL :)
The nVidia 7300LE is a very low powered graphic card, it's not even as powerful as some recent integrated graphics. It will be able to play some older games, but will give very poor performance in anything recent. Here's a hierarchy chart the 7300LE is on the 6th tier from the bottom on the left side.

The weakness of the 64 x2 3800+ processor and only 1 GB of RAM will also limit your game playing to older titles. Since you'll (hopefully) be getting a new PC in a few months i wouldn't drop any money on this old PC, but would save your money for a new system. I'd relegate the PC to e-mails and web surfing.
If you had to drop some money on this old system i'd pick up a kit of 2x1 GB of DDR2 RAM and a low power consumption graphic card such as the HD5570.

+1 for Morrowwind. Be prepared to waste well over 100 hours playing through all the quests though. Great game.

Youre just stuck gaming in a different era for awhile, which isn't a bad thing! If you like online multiplayer get the battlefield collection series with 1942 and vietnam, still a few servers up for each. Call of Duty maybe, SWAT is one of my favorite all time single player games.

Lol give him some credit......2003 and prior. 😉

I have a 7100GS 128Mb, and it can play Counter-Strike: Source on high settings at 1280x800. That game is from 2005. I did overclock it a bit though. It actually looks decent on my 25.5" monitor even. Any of those older games could work.

Or you could go back to the classics like Age of Empires II and Command and Conquer: Red Alert. Those are still fun to play occasionally.

For $100, I think your best graphics card would be a 5770. You can get it on sale for $99 if you look for it. The processor and RAM will become a bottleneck. Overall, you may just want to wait until July and upgrade the entire computer.

woah gee you guys are really awesome. I never expected anyone to even bother looking at this thread. I was just hoping... But you guys have given me a good list of games to play while i wait those 4 months...

Haha. I never thought I would see parenting on computer forums. I like the message though.

Try the Fate series (my favories) Fable, and Titan Quest.
